toDe Mele(Lap Top)

Got my first laptop yesterday- A Lenovo R61(Intel core2 duo 2.4Ghz, 2 gb ram)
My first reaction was "Oh! the all black look is beautiful"!.
As i opened my laptop and realized that the battery was not in its place,I looked
at the accessories box and found the battery. It slid into position without a hitch.
Now that the battery was in position I powered my laptop and it vroomed into life.
The boot process didnt take more than 30 seconds, pretty impressive compared to my
aging desktop. As i heard the familiar windows startup sound and the display turned a nice colour of blue i saw the
world map with a thinkcenter logo on it.Maybe it indicated that I now had the entire world to stay connected with.
The first application i ran was the Thinkvantage application which is a preloaded application that acts like a control center
for the laptop.Accessing this application is just a button push away.Tucked away on the top corner of the laptop is
a blue Thinkvantage button that fires up the control center.
Something that i fell in love immediately was the noiseless and touch sensitive keypad. It is in black with a red trackpoint
slider in the middle. The keyboard works like a charm and is very responsive.
Next in my list of tests that i conducted on the laptop was running a movie and to check if i felt any vibrations on my lap.
I put in a new Bigflix movie DVD and as soon as I pushed the DVD drive back into place I got a prompt asking me to
choose the application which would be used to run the movie.I selected windows media player as no other application was
loaded at the time.In an instant i heard the whirr of the dvd spinning. But the comforting factor was there was no or very minimal vibration
that trickled down onto my lap.I kept it on the table to check if the wood would vibrate too.But magnifiently there was
no vibration.woah! this was something that i always dreaded in a laptop and mine didnt disappoint.
Next inline was checking the speaker output and it did a decent job.In full volume i could watch a movie sitting a few feet away.
Pretty impressive i thought since i have always heard complaints about speakers not being loud enough.
But i could not continue any longer since federer had resumed against nadal, trailing by 2 sets. But sadly he could not
prevail even after a brilliant fightback. But what a match.I have no issues with nadal winning it.
But federer is still king.Lenovo is still Thinkpad.
